Welcome to Hackathons for Schools Student Summer Sprint!

The Student Summer Sprint event is an online programme organised by Hackathons for Schools.

We are a non-profit organisation run by passionate students who study STEM subjects across the UK. Our aim is to increase technology opportunities in schools and get more 15 to 18 year olds interested in technology and taking part in hackathons.

Hackathons are events where a group of people come together to solve problems. They’re great for meeting new people, building technical skills and great to put on your CV! We want to get the message about hackathons out to schools to show how fun learning to program can be in this environment.

What we do

We work with schools to provide technical workshops, resources and guidance for hosting their own hackathons. For the first time this year, we’ve hosted the Student Summer Sprint programme as an online event to engage sixth form students interested in technology.

Who we are

Hackathons for Schools was founded by Will Russell as an initiative to engage the hackathon community with young people in schools and share their enthusiasm for technology.

We also work with a fantastic group of mentors. These are students with lots of experience in hackathons and are able to help schools run their own hackathon events.
