UCAS Personal Statement Advice
Make sure you follow the advice here for your personal statement to really stand out!
Make use of as much of the space as possible.
Demonstrate how much you love the subject.
Don't use the word 'passionate' - its very overused!
Talk about things that you've done:
Books you've read.
Relevant work experience.
Relevant hobbies and interests.
Talk about why you want to do the course.
Should also have a clear idea of what course it is that you want to study.
Don't tailor the personal statement to a specific university, all of the ones you apply to will see the same personal statement.
Give a solid introduction and conclusion.
If applying to Oxbridge universities, make sure to make your personal statement more academic.
Avoid cliches and famous quotes - admissions tutors will have seen them all before, be unique!
