Make use of as much of the space as possible.
Demonstrate how much you love the subject.
Don't use the word 'passionate' - its very overused!
Talk about things that you've done:
Books you've read.
Relevant work experience.
Relevant hobbies and interests.
Talk about why you want to do the course.
Should also have a clear idea of what course it is that you want to study.
Don't tailor the personal statement to a specific university, all of the ones you apply to will see the same personal statement.
Give a solid introduction and conclusion.
If applying to Oxbridge universities, make sure to make your personal statement more academic.
Avoid cliches and famous quotes - admissions tutors will have seen them all before, be unique!
